For the prep: You can do this on a trampoline or into a pool/lake. Step 1: Decide which direction you want to do your flip. You will want to land on your outside shoulder. Step 2: Stand on the trampoline (platform or dock) with your knees bent and mimick holding the handle. Step 3: Roll onto that outside shoudler and aim to put your feet above your head. For the backdrop outside the wake: - Slow down the boat to 15 mph. Step 1: Stand outside the wake with your knees bent and handle down low. Step 2: Without cutting at all, fall on the middle of your back with your feet above your head. Step 3: Get comfortable with the back drop, really trying to ski away and closing your shoulders off from the boat. Step 4: Once you are getting 75% of the way around on the back drop, start adding a small cut up the wake, increasing width and intensity as you get comfortable. If you are starting to do the rotation incorrectly, go back to the back drop.
For the flip:
-Bring the boat speed back to your normal speed.
Step 1: Make sure your knees are slightly bent with your handle down low near the top of the wake.
Step 2: Ski down the wake, not past the white wash, and have your weight over your front foot with pressure on your toes.
Step 3: Build speed and angle into the base of the wake. Make sure to start easy and increase in intensity up the wake, you don't want to let up.
Step 4: Ski all the way up the wake and close your shoulders off to the boat.
Step 5: On the landing, stay tall with your handle down low and resist with your legs to squat down.
