Toe O Wrap In

Step 1: Start with your knee high and leg in (90 degree angle). Keep your hands about chest height.

Step 2: Try to work off that 90 degree angle with your leg as much as you can. You can let your leg out just slightly if needed, but the goal is to keep the leg in. Bring your foot to the back of your knee.

Step 3: Lock that foot behind your knee and bring your knee (toe leg) all the way around pointing towards the boat.

Step 4: Rock over your toes to gain balance. You can do this by: 1) squeezing your butt cheeks or 2) pushing your hands towards the boat.

Step 5: Squeeze your foot to the back of your knee as much as you can when spinning out. Spin slow.

Step 6: Finish in the same position you started. With your knee high and leg in.

Anna,

is it safe to assume that you don’t recommend learning this trick starting from the toe back position? We used to try it that way, but honestly without much success. I think the way you teach it gives you the momentum you need so you don’t have to pull so hard when you get backwards. Is that the logic? Would be interesting to hear your opinion on that.

Thank you!

Hi, yes! The idea is that you can gain a little momentum to be able to come all the way around. I want you to start with your leg mostly in and let it out for a small tug then pull your foot to the back of your knee. This will have your foot to the back of your knee by the time you are in the back position to rotate all the way to the front. If you start in the toe back position it is difficult to pull enough to get all the way around and get free of the boat. You are pulling too late and can cause you to pull yourself off of your axis. However,…
